All our staff are trained to harness their knowledge about current legislature and guidelines that protect and ensure that persons in their care are not only respected, but also aided in enhancing their safety, ability and freedom of choice and independence.
They are kept up-to-date with relevant policies, procedures, and sectoral changes, etc. Their skills (in Manual Handling, Health & Safety at Work, Emergency Procedures - Fire, Gas & Electricity, etc; Food Hygiene & Preparation, Control & Restraint - especially for those caring for Service Users with challenging behaviour; as well as the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence - NICE Guidelines, etc) are used to sensitively support the Service Users in their care.
Upon recruitment, every member of staff is equipped with a Staff Handbook to aid them in carrying out their duties at all times.
